7, Halliday Drive is part of a former Georgian stables block within the confines of the Royal Marines Cavalry Barracks, located in the Walmer Seafront Conservation Area and it is a Grade II Listed building. Le Vaillant Owen worked with Heritage Officers and the client to transform this wonderful Listed building into a breathtaking, contemporary new home. The client said: “It’s a pleasure to work with Valerie! She is a good listener and was able to interpret my ideas and translate them into lovely designs. My house is a Listed Building in a Conservation area, so it was great to work with an architect who is so experienced in heritage matters and I was delighted when Valerie secured Permission to improve my house by introducing more natural light and reconfiguring the stairs to make a more spacious and attractive entrance hall. Valerie also created a new utility room and cloakroom and, best of all, helped me transform my kitchen by installing a bespoke, hand-made Charlie Kingham kitchen – it is my pride and joy!”
