This a modern semi-detached town house, located on Royal Marines’ North Barracks estate. Like many town houses, the living room is on the first floor, while the ground floor was occupied by a study, a cloakroom and a small kitchen, leaving little space for family use and restricting access to the garden.

Valerie was commissioned to design a rear extension, with large, glazed doors opening out to the garden, to accommodate a spacious, contemporary new two-tone kitchen and a family dining area. The extension roof contains a large roof light, which floods the space with light, and transforms this part of the house into a sensational space that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
