The clients inherited Box Tree Cottage and commissioned Valerie to obtain Planning Permission for a new house in the grounds, to maximise the value of their inheritance. Valerie promoted the site during the preparation of Dover DC’s Local Plan to 2040 and, at the Examination in Public, successfully made the case to the Inspector, to re-draw the settlement boundary at Ringwould and allow additional ‘windfall’ housing on the edge of the village. This meant the land adjacent to Boxtree Cottage could be developed for an attractive new, detached house, which significantly increased the land value.
